  What are options on ornamental fence warranty?

All products released under the Ornamental brands we use come with 10 to 20-year warranty covering chips, cracks, and undue fading.

Does ornamental fencing fade, rust, peel, and chip? What measures does Blackfoot Decking and Fencing LLC. take to help prevent these processes?

Naturally, this is a top concern, given the immense beauty of ornamental fencing. We recommend the following preventative measures:

• Galvanization. Using a zinc-rich finish to seal surfaces against rust and corrosion, galvanizing poses one drawback in that most paint applications struggle to adhere to it without an interim brush blasting.

• Powder Coating. Consisting of powder applied to the fence and then melted in an oven, this coating yields a resilient plastic surface with a texture similar to candy apple.

Is field welding recommended for ornamental fencing?

Generally speaking, we do not recommend field welding for ornamental fencing, as the welds will be immediately exposed to the elements, which can weaken your fence’s integrity. (For instance: humidity, drew, and precipitation can cause the materials to rust.) Field welding should be performed only when necessary—otherwise, the experts here at Blackfoot recommend fully shop-fabricated panels attached to the posts using bolt-on connections.
